Are you that enthusiastic Senior Quantitative Analyst with several years of experience in a commodity (energy) trading environment? We would like to expand our team with a Senior Quantitative Analyst who takes the lead in the expansion of KYOS analytical software and services. It will be your role to drive the further development of existing tools, develop new tools and analyze the markets to support the commodity trading activities of our clients. You have confidence in your solutions and have the communication skills to explain them to your colleagues and customers.

Our analytical software is based on econometric models and mathematical algorithms. It is used to support trading and investment decisions in energy and commodity markets. We develop original analytical solutions, sometimes tailor-made for specific client needs. Our customers are mostly large companies in the energy or commodity industry, as well as trading houses. investment funds and local producers or suppliers. We are an experienced international team serving clients from across Europe and other parts of the world. This position is based in Haarlem, the Netherlands, 15 minutes train ride from Amsterdam..
Tasks Senior Quantitative Analyst
You will:
- Lead the development of quantitative solutions for pricing, forecasting, optimization and risk management, primarily in the energy and commodity trading sector
- Research energy markets using statistical and fundamental analysis, and communicate the results to our clients
- Lead one or more areas of expertise in our quantitative modelling and analytics team, and provide guidance to other areas of expertise in this team
- Collaborate with the software development and IT team, and jointly find practical solutions for our clients
- Maintain and improve existing analytical tools and services
- Communicate the results of your research and analysis to clients
- Define functional specifications and write code for the quantitative tools
- Explore new methodologies and new market developments to spot opportunities for KYOS
- Interact with KYOS clients to help solve their issues and help them use the KYOS solutions effectively
We expect that you have
- A university degree (MSc or PhD) in a quantitative field (computer science, mathematics, physics or engineering)
- Strong mathematical modeling, research and development skills
- A thorough understanding of financial market concepts, financial derivatives and financial econometrics
- Several years of experience working in an energy trading business in a quantitative position
- Excellent team working skills, and capable of leading a small team of international quants
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, in dealing with our customers
